2 The Breathing Technique Read before starting

Inhale through your mouth. Exhale through your mouth. Continuous. That's the technique.

Inhale deeply through your mouth — fill your belly first, then your chest. Take in as much air as you possibly can.

Exhale through your mouth — let it all go. Don't hold at the top. Just release.

Keep it continuous — no pausing between breaths. As soon as you finish exhaling, inhale again.

Breathe from your diaphragm — deep belly breathing. Your stomach should rise and fall, not just your chest.

What to expect during the session
  • • You may feel tingling in your hands, face, or body — this is normal
  • • You may feel emotional — tears, laughter, or intense feelings may arise. Let them come
  • • You may feel lightheaded — this is your body adjusting. Keep breathing
  • • Your hands may cramp or tighten — this is called tetany and is normal. It will pass
  • • If overwhelmed, slow your breathing and breathe through your nose until regulated
Preparation: Find a quiet space. Lie down. Have a blanket and water nearby. Turn off notifications. Give yourself permission to fully feel whatever comes up.
